Cookie Statement
Effective April 1, 2024
This statement explains how Neighborlocker (“us” or “we” or “our”) and third parties use cookies, mobile advertising identifiers, and similar technologies on Neighborlocker’s website and platform (the “Platform”) collectively (our “Services”).
IMPORTANT NOTICE: Our Platform is currently in BETA mode; you may only use our Services under this cookie statement until further notice.
Types of Cookies and other types of technologies
We use cookies and other similar technologies (which include pixels, tags, web beacons, and local browser storage technologies) (collectively, “Cookies”) on our Platform to provide our Services. A cookie is a small file containing a unique identifier that is placed in the web browser of your computer or mobile device when you visit a website. A pixel (also sometimes called web beacon, or clear GIF) is a tiny piece of code, invisible to the user, placed on a webpage or in an email and used in combination with a Cookie to link a given activity or impression back to the user. An advertiser may include a pixel in its content so the advertiser can measure whether our Members interact with that content (for example, by clicking to view an offer). Cookies enable operators of websites to recognize your device and collect information from it when you interact with them. They use this information to understand how the website is being used, remember user preferences, and improve user browsing experience. Cookies are also used to make the advertising you see online more relevant to your interests.
Find out more about the use of cookies on www.allaboutcookies.org.
If you would like more information about our privacy practices more broadly, including how we process personal data that we may collect through Cookies, please review our Privacy Policy.
Mobile Advertising Identifiers
Most major phones and tablets include a mobile advertising identifier (e.g., an IDFA on iOS and an ADID on Android) that is a unique device identifier that enables third parties to connect you to your activities across websites, including Neighborlocker. This is generally used for personalizing advertising and measurement of advertising campaigns. Even without a mobile advertising identifier, you’d still see advertising, but those ads might be less relevant to you.
Cookies on your Device
Cookies set by the website you visit are called “first party cookies.” Here, first party cookies are cookies placed by Neighborlocker. Cookies set by other parties are called “third party cookies.” Third party cookies enable third party features or functionality within the website, such as website analytics, advertising, and social media features. The parties that set these third-party cookies can recognize your computer or device both when it visits the website/app in question and when it visits certain other websites/apps. We do not control how these third parties use your information, which is subject to their own privacy policies.
How Neighborlocker uses Cookies
The cookies used on our Platform to provide our Services are categorized as follows:
-
Strictly necessary cookies
-
Functional cookies
-
Analytics & performance cookies
-
Targeting cookies
-
Social media cookies
Strictly necessary cookies are necessary for our Platform to function. For example, to remember your settings and preferences such as your language preferences. We may also use these cookies to authenticate you, for instance if you elect to log in to your account we may require cookies to facilitate that log in process (including persisting log in across page loads). Finally, we may use these cookies for fraud, trust and safety, and investigations. We use cookies to keep our Services safe, including to detect and prevent fraud and conduct investigations. You can set your browser to block these cookies, but some parts of our Platform will not work, and we will not be able to guarantee how our Platform will perform during your visit.
Functional cookies enable us to provide you with enhanced functionality and personalization. We may use functional cookies to secure our Services. We use cookies to monitor login, session, and status data. This allows us to know, for example, whether you are logged in. If you do not allow these Cookies, then some of our Services may not function fully.
Analytics & performance cookies are used to collect traffic data and data about the use of our Services (e.g., which pages you visit and if you experience any errors). We use this information to help us analyze how subscribers and visitors access and use Neighborlocker, to help us improve how our Services work, and for other analytics services relating to website activity and internet usage. If you do not allow these cookies, we will not know when you have visited our site.
Targeting cookies are used to build a profile of your interests and show you relevant information and advertisements. We also use these Cookies to personalize your use of Neighborlocker by serving customized advertising that may better suit your interests. Our Services allow third party advertising companies that we work with to use Cookies to collect information about how you use Neighborlocker, to show you ads they believe will be relevant to you on Neighborlocker, and to measure how the ads perform. This information helps us assess whether sponsored posts and other advertising offers are relevant and interesting to our Members and successful for the advertiser. These cookies are also used for advertising purposes, including for measurement, personalization and to create similar audiences to advertise to. If you do not allow these Cookies, you will experience less targeted advertising.
Social media cookies. If you register or sign in using a social media login, that social media site may set Cookies. For more information on these cookies, see the cookie policy of the relevant social media provider.
Neighborlocker uses both session cookies and persistent cookies:
-
We use session Cookies to identify you during a particular visit to Neighborlocker. Session cookies expire after a short time, or when you close your web browser or app after using Neighborlocker.
-
We use persistent Cookies to identify you over a long period of time. For example, if you asked us to keep you signed in, we would use a persistent cookie for that purpose. Persistent cookies remain on your device for a set period specified in the cookie.
Third Party Cookies
Your use of our Platform may result in some cookies stored on your device that are not controlled by Us. This may occur when the part of the Platform you are visiting makes use of a third-party analytics or marketing automation/management tool or includes content displayed from a third-party website, for example, YouTube or Facebook. You should review the privacy and cookie policies of these services to find out how these third parties use cookies.
Subscribers may share content on Neighborlocker that originates from a third-party website or service, and that third-party website or service may set its own cookies when you interact with that content. For example, if a Subscriber posts a video from YouTube on Neighborlocker, YouTube may set a cookie when you click to watch the video.
Cookie Management
When you visit our Platform, you are asked to fully or partially accept or decline the Cookies that will be placed on your devices. It is not possible, however, to decline cookies that are strictly necessary to provide the functionality of our Platform. When you have consented to the use of particular Cookies, you can always withdraw your consent by changing your preferences.
Furthermore, you can also change the settings of your internet browser to prevent Cookies from being placed on your devices. In addition, you can also delete cookies that have already been set on your devices. Please click on the links down below to know how you can delete or block cookies in the most common browsers:

If the change is material, we will take reasonable steps to notify you in advance as required by applicable law.
