Pyrethra Inc. (“we” or “us” or “our”) values you as a customer and recognizes that privacy is important to you. This Privacy Statement explains our policy with respect to your “Personal Information” when you use our platform and storage services including your rights in determining what we do with your Personal Information and how to contact us.

Purpose

The purpose of this Privacy Statement is to establish common rules for the collection, use and disclosure of your Personal Information in a manner that balances your right to privacy and our need to collect, use or disclose your Personal Information to provide our storage services in accordance with our continuing obligations under the federal Personal Data Protection and Electronic Documents Act and the Personal Information Protection Acts of British Columbia, Alberta, and Quebec and any other data protection laws which may be applicable from time to time.

“Personal Information” is data that identifies, relates to, describes, can be used to contact, or could reasonably be linked directly or indirectly to you.

Note: we only collect Personal Information from you (i) where the Personal Information is necessary to comply with a legal requirement (ii) where the Personal Information is necessary to sign a contract with you. (iii) where the processing of your Personal Information is in our Legitimate Interest allowed under law. (iv) where we have your consent to do so and (v) in some cases we have the legal obligation to collect Personal Information from you such as where it is necessary to use your transaction history to complete our financial reporting and tax obligations under the law.

“Legitimate Interest” that operate or improve our platform and communicate with you to provide our storage services, or for security verification when you contact us, to respond to your queries, undertaking marketing, or for the purpose of potentially detecting or preventing illegal activities.

Informed Consent

By clicking on and agreeing to our “Terms of Service” when you create an account and sign a contract with us to use our storage services you expressly consent to the collection, use and disclosure of your Personal Information.

Our platform is a general audience website and we do not offer services directed towards children under the age of 13 years or any individual unable to provide meaningful consent without express consent from a parent or guardian or guardian ad litem.

Consistent with this Policy Statement and applicable law, we may communicate with you via electronic messages including email and text message to send you information relating to our products and storage services and marketing such as offers, promotions, and other news about our products and storage services offered by us and other business partners. We may also contact you at the mobile phone number you provide to us by way of direct dial calls, autodialed, and prerecorded message calls, and text messages in connection with our storage services and products.

Information we collect and use

When you create an account and sign a contract with us too book storage services with one of our storage partners using our platform, we collect the following categories of Personal Information directly from you:

Personal details such as name, age, birthdate, and gender
Government issued identification such as passport, drivers license, or other government issued identification required for booking or identity verification.
Contact information such as email address, home, business, and billing address, phone number
Geolocation to provide you the best storage options closest to you.
Payment information such as payment card number, expiration date, billing address, and financial account number
Booking information such as storage related preferences and requests such as storage location and storage types as available
Account information such as login credentials, including email address and password and account settings.
Social media data if you choose to link us with any social media account, we may collect Personal Information such as name, age, gender, photograph, and other Personal Information relating to your social media accounts.
Your contacts such as contact information of individuals or businesses you add to, or notify of, your reservations through our storage services.
Reviews you submit about us including any screenname you publish under or any Personal Information you include about yourself or others.
Photos of you such as when you add a photo of yourself to your account profile, upload photos to a review you submit, or link your social media account to your storage account.
Communications you send us such as questions, conversations, complaints, or other information that you may submit to us.
Searches you conduct, transactions, and other interactions with you using our platform and storage services.
Other information you may provide to us using our storage services.

We also collect Personal Information generated by us about you and your activities as you use our platform and storage services such as Personal Information about your device including your hardware, software, device configuration, and nearby networks. Such Personal Information may include data about your device operating system, browsers, and other software installed on your device, IP address or other device identifier, country of origin, region which and language settings, and information about domain servers and wireless or network access points near your device which could reveal your approximate geographic location, racial or ethnic origin, religious or philosophical beliefs, sexual orientation, or health or disability Personal Information.

We also collect Personal Information about your usage of our platform and usage of our storage services including information about your searches, statistics, and how you interact with the features of our platform and the links you click, your preferences, access times, referring URL and performance of our platform.

We also collect Personal Information we get from third parties such as third-party websites, applications, social media networks, and related services for example:

your name, email address or other contact information
social media data if you connect to our platform or interact with us by liking or commenting on our social media pages or content, we may receive information from that social media third-party platform about those interactions and from your social media profile (name, age, gender, photograph, and other Personal Information related to that account) and
how you use third-party websites, applications, and services; information relating to your interactions with our advertising and marketing material.

Note: some of the Personal Information identified above, such as any government issued identification, or a geolocation and certain demographics may be considered “sensitive” Personal Information under certain laws. Please be aware that some sensitive Personal Information may be shared (described below) to our storage partners or other third parties such as information regarding your booked storage location or storage preferences.

Also Note: you may choose not to provide some of the Personal Information above, however our platform and providing our storage services requires some Personal Information to operate including sensitive Personal Information, so if you choose not to provide Personal Information necessary to operate and provide you with our storage service or a feature of or storage service, you may not use that our storage service or a feature of our storage services.

How We Use Your Information

We use your Personal Information to provide our storage services specific to your storage requirements and show you potential bookings and transactions with our storage partners. We may also use your Personal Information for other purposes such as:

Providing account services, such as automatically creating an account for you when you make a booking using our storage services. This account collects your storage requirements that we share with our storage partners.
Provide account authentication and credentials to identify you as necessary to log you into our storage services and ensure the security of your account.
Show your reservations and bookings made through our platform to our storage partners.
Communicate with you about your account or usage of our storage services and functionality such as asking for reviews and feedback, sending alerts and notifications, providing updates, sending booking confirmations, sending you administration and servicing emails or other notices required by law, respond to, and follow up on your comments and questions, and otherwise provide customer service.
Sending you marketing communications, including communicating with you about services or products offered by us or our business partners and other marketing communications that we believe you would be interested in, as permitted by law.
Operate and improve our storage services and develop new products and services including using analytics to better understand how to our storage services for purposes of product, website, application, and service development and to enhance the user experience.
Process your payment information.
Tailor your experience with our storage services such as making inferences or combining different information about you to offer better storage services or otherwise tailor our storage services to you according to your preferences or restrictions.
Provide you more relevant advertising on and off our storage services including providing you personalized offers.
Protect against, investigate, and deter fraudulent, unauthorized, or illegal activity.
Comply with our policies, procedures and legal obligations including complying with law enforcement or government authority requests, addressing litigation related issues, and exercising rights or obligations conferred by law.

with our storage partners to provide you with our storage services such as contact information, identification information, preferences, requests, and other relevant information to facilitate bookings or reservations and provide the services you requested and for our storage partners own purposes, which may include marketing or advertising purposes.
with other third-party business partners for their own marketing purposes, including sharing with online advertisers or advertising technology companies to provide you with targeted advertising and marketing communications where permitted by law.
with social networking services when you use our storage services to connect and share your information publicly or with friends or when you use our storage services to connect with us on, share on, or use third party social networking platforms and services.
if you use a third-party service or application such as Facebook to log into your account.
to process your payments using credit or debit card information or other online payment methods as required. When you submit your payment information we share that information with storage partners, third-party payment processers to the extent to meet our contractual obligations to you or to meet our Legitimate Interests in preventing fraud and other misuses of our platform or storage services or with your consent where required by law.
with other third-party vendors, consultants, and other service providers who perform services or functions on our behalf.
In the event of a corporate transaction if we sell, transfer, divest, or disclose all or a portion of your business or assets to another company in connection with or during negotiation of any merger, financing, acquisition, bankruptcy, dissolution, transaction, or proceeding.
to other third-parties when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, our property, the integrity of our storage services, personal safety, or the interests of you and any other person, and to detect, prevent and/or otherwise address fraud, risk management, security, or technical issues.
to other third-parties’ aggregate statistical data to improve our storage services at our discretion.
to comply with and as required by law to government authorities or other relevant third parties in order to comply with applicable legal requirements, judicial proceedings, court orders, legal process, or lawful requests from governmental authorities.
at your request or direction, or subject to your consent.

How We Store and Protect Your Information

We maintain technical, administrative, and physical security measures designed to protect your Personal Information from loss, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction.

Note: if we receive instructions using your username and password, we will assume you have authorized the instructions you are providing. You play an important role keeping your information secure. You should not share your username and password, or other security information about your account with us with anyone. If you believe your account is no longer secure, please advise us immediately.

When your payment information is transmitted to us, it will be protected by cryptographic protocols. We only store your payment information if you choose to save that information to your account

We retain your Personal Information for as long as your account is active and for a period of five years thereafter or as applicable law directs to allow you to re-activate your account without loss of information, and as necessary for the other purposes such as:

to maintain business records for analysis, security, taxation and /or other accounting or audit purposes.
to comply with legal record retention requirements.
to respond to complaints about our storage services and storage partners; and
to comply with our legal obligations, protect, or defend your rights, resolved disputes, and enforce our contracts.

Your Rights

When we use Personal Information to meet our Legitimate Interests, we take steps to ensure that your rights to your personal information are not infringed. You also have the right to object to how we use your Personal Information if the legal basis for processing that Personal Information is in our Legitimate Interest.

If you no longer wish to receive marketing and promotional electronic communications from us, to opt-out of the sharing of your Personal Information for targeted advertising and marketing or to withdraw your consent to our use of Personal Information where you have granted consent to receive direct marketing communications from us at anytime you may click on the “unsubscribe” link in emails and reply “STOP” or otherwise instructed to text messages or you may adjust your account settings to op-out.

If we make any changes or updates to this Privacy Statement that materially impact previously collected Personal information about you, we will make reasonable efforts to provide notice and obtain consent to any such changes or updates as may be required by law.

If we are unable to resolve any concerns you may have regarding your Personal Information, you have the right to register a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada by calling 1-800-282-1376 or filling out the online form at Tell the OPC about a privacy issue.

Disclaimers

We cannot control the privacy or security of information you choose to make public or share with others nor can we control the privacy practices of our storage or business partners or third-parties or third-party websites or platforms.

If you choose to store your Personal Information with us we cannot guarantee that transmissions of your or your other Personal Information will always be secure or that unauthorized third parties could never defeat the security measures taken by us except to the extent that liability cannot be excused or limited due to applicable law, we assume no liability or responsibility for disclosure of your Personal Information due to errors in transmission, unauthorized third party access. Or other causes beyond our control.
